Anyhow turning it off eliminates nonsense like DWM_SOURCE_FRAME_SAMPLING, DWMFLIP3DWINDOWPOLICY that aren't needed when classic theme is applied. Sure they don't get used as much (on classic) but you can see it with a big long trace of all file access on your machine. Try it, its fun. You like classic? cool. Go for it. Nobody said you had to agree with my way, I'm just offering help for somebody that might not know "a" way. Now they know 2 thanks to you if they stumbled on my lame site. If you really do not want the aero interface 'fine'... but *DO NOT* disable DWM to achieve that! Just select the classic theme and leave it at that.
